Our Story
Founded by Darrell Cunningham in 1989, Kitchen Design Inc. has since been responsible for creating the finest custom cabinetry and countertops for residential and commercial properties across Virginia.
Darrell, along with his team of innovative designers and talented craftsmen strive to provide a customized, quality product that is well-planned and specific to the needs of each individual customer. The dedication put forth towards design, production and personal service has awarded KDI an exceptional reputation with their clients and recognition amongst their peers.

All woodwork and countertop creation is manufactured inside of our 64,000 sq foot, state of the art fabrication center located in Newport News, Virginia's Oakland Industrial Park.

After years of on the job training and apprenticeship Laura joined Kitchen Design in 2002, helping numerous families transform and create ideal living spaces for their homes.
Specializing in a Transitional style of interior design Laura expertly blends traditional and contemporary stylings to create a look that is modern, sophisticated and comforting.

Craig has been an integral asset to KDI since joining the design team in 2000.
Not having a specific design aesthetic tied to his name, Craig is able to combine a variety of styles with current design trends to best meet the desires of the customer while creating a functional and welcoming space in your home.
